Q: What kind of music is played in the studio?
A: I play spa & nature music. But it really depends on what you like, if your not enjoying the music, let me know, and you can listen to radio, or bring your own CD to play. Q: Do you accept walk ins? A: Sorry, due to restriction on our location, we are unable by law to accept walk ins. But I do accept same day appointments, even on short notice if the time is available. Q: What if I'm late for my appointment? A: It's advised that you try to arrive on time for your appointment. I book my appointments back to back. Being late may cut into the next appointment...making the next person have to wait...that is not acceptable, so your service may be shortened to account for lost time. Please call if you are going to be late, if you will be 15 minutes or more late it is recommended that you re-book your appointment for another time or day. If no call and you are 15 minutes or more late, your appointment is considered a "no show" and will be filled with another client. Q: What is Manicure Monday? A: Every Monday, is Manicure Monday! That means if you book to have a Manicure on a Monday, you'll receive 15% off your manicure. Q: What methods of payment do you accept? A: I accept, Visa, Master Card, Debit and Cash, for your convenience. Q: I may have to bring my child to my service...is that O.K? A: Being a mother I understand how hard it can be to have time for yourself. If you have a new born or child under 1 it's typically O.K. Older children tend to wander and please keep in mind that there are dangerous things in the spa, such as hot wax, paraffin, sharp objects, hot stones and we are not responsible for the care of your child, so it is advised you use your discretion when bringing a child with you. As a Mommy I recommend that you make private time for yourself and book appointments when a sitter is available. Our hours are 9am-9pm Monday - Saturday, so it's pretty flexible. Q: Is it safe for me to have spa services while nursing or pregnant? A: yes, Most services I offer are suitable for nursing or pregnant mothers. I always do a Consultation before a service, so please let me know if you are pregnant or nursing. Services can be modified for your comfort during that time. Q: How many people can have services at the same time? A: One, OPAL is designed to offer private one on one service. This is to ensure distraction free environment with out all the busyness of the typical salon/spa. So your spa experience is private and relaxing in a clean & safe environment. Q: What do the OPAL studio facilities consist of? A: Opal is designed for one person to be serviced at one time. The space has a manicure/pedicure area, massage table, and shower table area, also included is small space for retail products & Sanitize area. There are no public washrooms located on the facility, so I recommend you use the washroom before your appointment, especially before body treatments. Check out the photo albums for pictures of the area. Q: How do you clean between clients? A: Nippers, files, paddles etc.. are scrubbed and cleaned with a hospital grade disinfectant and placed in the sanitizer. Tables, chairs & equipments used are cleaned with hospital grade disinfectant. Each client is serviced with clean linens and disposable items are used when appropriate. We do not use pipe or jetted pedicure chairs, so our pedicure basins are easy to disinfect. I follow beyond all Alberta Health regulations and standards for Esthetics and Spa services. Q: Do I have to fill out a consultation? A: Yes, service may be refused if you do not want to fill out a consultation form. The forms are very important to ensure the services you are having are safe for you. The consultation form lets me know if you have an contraindications for any services, such as allergies to ingredients. The form also helps keeps track of your services and progress. It is also required for insurance purpose. Q: What do I wear during Massage or Body Treatments? A: Keeping client comfort in mind, it is recommended for massage that you keep underwear on eg: panties, boxers, briefs. Bra is optional but recommended that it be removed for back massage. For Body Treatments you may bring a bikini or swim bottoms, I also have disposable wear that you can use, or if you prefer to go nude. Professional draping techniques are used for all Massage and Body Treatments, only areas that are worked on are exposed. I always ask my clients what they are comfortable with before the service to make sure the service is enjoyable for them. Q: Do you have Gift Certificates? A: Of course, I want you to pass the gift of relaxation on. Gift certificates have no expiry date, and can be purchased for any amount or service.
